It is cut through reddish and tan colored Sandstone. You travel through the popular tourist town of Springdale to get to the entrance of Zion Canyon. Springdale has a host of shops and restaurants and other tourist traps! Fun place to visit on the way to Zion.
St. George Regional Airport: 7.3 miles. An airport with arrivals from Salt Lake City, Denver, and Los Angeles. Always check on flying directly into St. George, often very comparable to Las Vegas and Salt Lake. Get started on your vacation sooner. Rental cars and pick up services available. Las Vegas in less than 2 hours away for those arriving there.
St. George Utah LDS Temple: 5.9 miles. First temple completed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West in 1877. Beautiful visitors center and grounds, located in the heart of downtown St. George. Also other historic LDS (Mormon) sites throughout this area.
Dixie Regional Medical Center: 4.2 miles. There if you need it. 🙁
Costco: 4.1 miles. What is vacation without a stop at Costco?
Major restaurants and shopping: 5.1 miles. Enjoy good food and fun shops that St. George has to offer. Outlet mall and other retail outlets. Eat Well and Travel Often.
Snow Canyon State Park: 14 miles. Features a canyon carved from the red and white Navajo sandstone. This park, near Ivins , includes, extinct cinder cones, lava tubes, lava flows, and sand dunes. Rare to see Snow there!
Golf Courses are minutes away. St. George area boasts 13 golf courses. Golfing is available year round. This is where the Summer Sun Spends the Winter.
Tuacahn Amphitheater: 14.7 miles. Expect unforgettable Broadway shows produced at this beautiful venue. When not producing breathtaking musicals, Tuacahan Amphitheater is a great venue for concerts, comedians, and even bull riders!
Freedom Village is a great place to stay if you are visiting some of the other parks in this vicinity. Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands National Park, Brian Head Ski Resort and more are located within a few hours of travel time.

Southern Utah is home to many world class events. Including the St. George Marathon held the first Saturday in October. Participants and fans come from all over the world. Huntsman Senior games the next week in October, and has had 34 countries represented for over 30 years.
The St. George Ironman is held in this striking location the first part of May. Baseball, softball, and soccer events bring travelers to our area almost weekly.
