St. George is full of great dates to treat your significant other. From a sunset hike to a Broadway play in the desert, the perfect date is out there. Here are a few of our favorite date ideas in the St. George area:

Tuacahn

Want to see a Broadway play but don’t want to pay Broadway prices or travel to a big city? Tuacahn Theatre is the answer. Tuachan is a 2,000 seat amphitheater that sits in a canyon surrounded by incredible red cliffs. Since its inception in 1995 Tuacahn has produced more than 60 major theatre productions, hosted over 200 concerts, and has had hundreds of actors, singers, and musicians grace its stage. There is nothing quite like watching a Broadway play outside in the desert, it is a perfect place for date night.

Red Hills Desert Garden

Red Hills Desert Garden is a five-acre desert conservation garden. The garden features 5,000 stunning plants, and a stream full of endangered fish species. There is no entrance fee for the garden and it is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Red Hills Desert Garden is the perfect place for a lowkey date in a beautiful place and it is affordable.

Explore Downtown St. George 

There is so much to see and do in downtown St. George. A great place to start exploring is Town Square Park. There are tall beautiful trees and a variety of stunning sculptures throughout the park. Just up from the park is the St. George Tabernacle, which opened in 1876 is a pinnacle in St. George history. From there you can explore a variety of fun and quirky shops and landmarks. To top off your night, head over to Judds General Store. Judds is an old-fashioned sweet shop with some great eats, from the delicious ice cream to their fan-favorite breadsticks!

Sears Art Museum Gallery

This art museum is located in the Delores Dore Eccles Fine Arts Center at Dixie State University. Admission to the museum is free and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum features six exhibits each year, you could go on six dates and see new styles of art each time! The museum boasts a variety of different types of art from traditional to contemporary.

Snow Canyon

Snow Canyon State Park is a great place for those wanting to get outside for a date. Here are a few of the hikes we recommend:

Lava Flow Trail

Explore old lava tubes from a now extinct volcano. The hike itself is 2.5 miles long and is moderate in difficulty.

Butterfly

This is a shorter hike at 1.1 miles, but it boasts beautiful views. This hike is known for its beautiful wildflowers along the trail. While the hike is short, there is plenty to be explored along the way.

Snow Canyon Overlook Trail

This hike can be accessed outside of the actual park near Dammeron Valley. This 4.7-mile hike takes you to the very top of Snow Canyon, giving you an incredible birds-eye view of the entire park.

Sand Hollow

Want to relax by the lake or rent a jetski? You can do both at Sand Hollow State Park. Sand Hollow is home to a gorgeous lake with some incredible views and rock formations. The Beach At Sand Hollow, or the Bash, offers ATV, Kayak, and paddleboard rentals. It even has food, ice cream, and cold drinks available to top off your date.

St. George is full of fabulous restaurants for date night. Here is a list of some of our favorite spots for an elevated dinner date:

Painted Pony

The Painted Pony is one of St. George’s fine dining restaurants with over 850 reviews on Google with a 4.6 rating. The Painted Pony is known for its contemporary seasonal cuisine and elevated southwestern dishes. It has a great ambiance with dimmed lighting and patio seating, perfect for a romantic dinner date with your significant other. It is also conveniently located in Ancestor Square in the heart of downtown St.George.

Cliffside Restaurant

Cliffside Restaurant has over 1,500 Google reviews and is a town favorite, not just for its food, but the incredible view from the restaurant. Cliffside Restaurant offers elevated American classics, sure to satisfy. So if you are looking for dinner and a view, this is the restaurant for you!

Cappelettis

Cappelettis is a family-owned Italian bistro with a 4.5 rating and has almost 900 Google reviews. The restaurant offers Italian classics with an Argentine twist. The homemade pasta and inviting atmosphere make for a great place to have a dinner date.

Staheli Family Farm 

This 350-acre farm has been in the Staheli Family for six generations. Every fall the farm puts on a corn maize that attracts over 30,000 guests. There is also a pumpkin patch, on-site food concessions, and their most popular attraction, The Field Of Screams. If you are ever in St. George in the fall, make sure to go on a date to the Staheli Family Farm, it is the perfect place to spend an October evening!

Christmas Lane 

Grab a hot chocolate and your significant other and take a stroll down Christmas Lane. Christmas Lane AKA the Canyon Ridge neighborhood in Cedar City is the place to see Christmas lights. This would make a great Christmas date and it’s free! For more Christmas activities check out this post.
